She has been a member of the Croatian Sommelier Club (HSK) since its establishment in 1994 and is a two-time national champion as well as the champion of Central and Eastern Europe.

She has represented Croatia several times at the World Sommelier Championships, and today, she is primarily active through regular columns and wine blogs that she writes for the most prestigious Croatian newspapers and portals.

Daniela’s distinct approach to food is driven by fine ingredients like the Kvarner Bay scampi and the Istrian white truffle. At Plavi Podrum, Daniela has created a wine list comprised of the finest wines and a selection of Croatian olive oils of the utmost quality.

Daniela’s day starts early in the morning with the local fishermen and a visit to the fresh food market, where she hand picks all the produce and ingredients. Having sourced the day’s ingredients, she returns to Plavi Podrum to greet the first guests.

Daniela continually enhances the offer at Plavi Podrum, always keeping in mind the guests and their ultimate food and wine experience.

With around 250 labels, we offer the best Croatian wines, a large choice of fine wines from Slovenia, and an excellent selection of Italian wines, French wines and New World wines.

At Plavi Podrum we boast an impressive collection of regional wine varieties featuring the finest Istrian Malvasia and Teran.

On each table, guests will be greeted by a real small exhibition, an offer of a dozen of the best olive oils from Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia.

Croatian olive oils are one of the best in the world, so it's no surprise that they are given due attention in the Plavi podrum restaurant. As if in a boutique of extra-virgin oils, here you can taste different autochthonous varieties, but also selections from recognized producers such as Meneghetti, Štimac, Chiavalon, Agrolaguna, Ipša, PZ Krka and other established oil producers of the new generation.
